Dead Man's Curve / The New Girl In School reached the Top 100 on the Cash Box and Billboard album charts, featuring two hit singles, nine original compositions (co-written by Berry), plus other compositions co-written by members of Berry's inner circle.
The Top-10 "Dead Man's Curve" was one of rock 'n roll's icons of the mid-'60s. The song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2008.
This LP included some of Jan & Dean's strongest album cuts. "Three Window Coupe" (co-written by Berry) became a Top 30 hit for The Rip Chords in '64; and Ronny & the Daytonas hit with "Bucket T" (also co-penned by Berry) in '65. (The Who covered "Bucket T" in '66).
